The Power of Talk

If confidence is shown through the manner in which people speak, I would say that I am perceived as someone who is not overly confident. I would like to think that I have a lot of confidence in what I have to say, yet, when it comes time to say it I’d rather let others speak over me. There can never be enough time to rehearse what I need to say in my head, as long as the lull in conversation doesn’t become too stale. I wonder if I’m at least perceived as competent, if not confident, though I can never be too sure of that. I believe that there is a difference between the power of talk and the power to talk, one of those I have and the other I do not. To be a true maestro of communication, one needs both the power of and the power to talk.
